Wacko Jacko and the media
TweetI find it funny and incredibly ironic that the same media outlets which used to offer sensational headlines that referred to Michael Jackson as “Wacko Jacko” are now, as Che said in Evita, falling over themselves to get all of the misery right. What does this say about media in America? What does this say about American culture?

That we’re cynical hypocrites who will do or say anything to gain fame, power and wealth.
Media companies are attention whores. They just want eyeballs, they don’t care what angle it takes to get them.
That’s true for sure. But, can we really blame them? They’re capitalist companies which want to make a profit, and selling magazines and TV ad time is their business, so more eyeballs equals more money. I have to put the real blame on the public which eats up crap like “Wacko Jacko” headlines.
| Michael Jackson is truly the King of Pop. i am a die hard fan of him and we are going to miss him now that he is gone!
I think it also says that most people just want sensational brain candy, rather than something more mentally nutritious.
