Ignite Phoenix 5: the best yet!

Wow, what a rush Ignite Phoenix 5 was! Bats, beatboxing, Bluetooth douchebags, miniature giant robots and several other topics all came together last night. Throw in the return of slideshow karaoke and the evening was a roller coaster of passion and community.

It was great to see some new additions to Ignite evening: alternative radio KWSS was broadcasting from the lobby and local band The Surfside IV played live before and during intermission. Also, I talked with many people who were attending their first Ignite, having been tempted to check it out by the tremendous amount of support for the event from the social media community.

Once again, the presentations were far more wide-ranging than I could ever have imagined. The passion and diversity displayed at Ignite Phoenix never cease to amaze me and make me incredibly proud to be a part of the community. I could write way too much about the presentations and what I thought of them, but I’ll just point to you the Ignite Phoenix site and let you watch them yourself. Videos should be posted in the next few days.

Compliments to The Tavern on Mill for hosting the after party and taking good care of us.

I can’t wait to see what the Phoenix community brings to Ignite Phoenix 6! Mark your calendar for March 30 at Mesa Arts Center. Submissions are open now, so get that presentation idea out of your head and into a submission!

Not only are you a great Ignite Phoenix attendee, Matt, but you and your lovely wife, Tracie, were fabulous volunteers. We run Ignite Phoenix entirely with the passion of community volunteers–everyone include Jeff volunteers their time.

As Jeff said last night, as long as the community wants to participate and attend Ignite Phoenix events, we will put them on. Thanks for your participation and support.

Thanks! The passion that goes into Ignite is really what attracts us and is
the reason we wanted to do more to support it this time. It was a great
experience and I want to thank you and the rest of the team that works hard
to bring Ignite to the community.
