Twitter is STILL misunderstood?

I recently read Daniel Lyons article in Newsweek titled Don’t Tweet on Me. I was amazed at how completely clueless Lyons is when it comes to Twitter. Seriously, he thinks that it’s just a place for no-talent asshats like Dane Cook to spew stuff and that the rest of us are so stupid that we eat it up.

Twitter is nothing new. As Lyons points out, it’s been around since 2006. Social media has been around even longer. How the hell can a major journalist still be that out of touch with the real value of social media? Here’s how: many journalists in traditional media just haven’t bothered to figure out the value of user-generated content. Is this a case of a journalist steadfastly sitting in his ivory tower, handing down news to the great unlearned masses? It sure seems so.

Wow you're right, he has no clue in that article!

Thanks! I find the social media cluelessness among some journalists to be ridiculous.
