TEDxPhoenix: Geek Week rolls on
TweetTonight I’m attending Phoenix’s inaugural TED event, TEDxPhoenix. I’ve never attended a TED event, so this will be an evening of firsts. I’m really excited to see what TEDxPhoenix has to offer, especially in combination with the other big community event this week, Ignite Phoenix 5. After Ignite fired up the community with 17 presentations of five minutes each, I think it will be interesting to see how people react to six presentations of 18 minutes. The TED format definitely lends itself to considering much broader topics on a deeper level, yet still requires the speakers to bring the passion required for Ignite.
I’m glad to see the TED format coming to a locally-centered event, as I’m really interested to hear what the speakers have to say about the issues facing our particular community today. I’m looking forward to more great discussion tonight!
