Ringtones are dead

At least, I hope they are. I confess, I hate ringtones. I hate hearing phones ring, period. I can tolerate phones ringing in my own home, but in public, I don’t want to hear it.

I don’t care to hear you express your individuality by having ringtones that say something about you or the callers you’ve associated them with. The days of looking important or cool because you have a cell phone are ancient history. Your phone vibrates for a reason; so that you can know when someone is calling you without annoying me. Use the silent feature and leave me out of your call.

You speak the truth. I fear, though, that asking people to have cell phone conversations at a reasonable volume is a step too far.

my phone is on silent all day long. if it's important they can leave a voicemail or send a text and then I'll get back to them.
