The right niche

We often hear career advice like “Find a niche that no one is filling and fill it.” That’s great, but what if you find a niche you’re not really passionate or excited about? Should you fill it just because it offers opportunity?

I say no. Doing something you’re not passionate about just because it makes you unique isn’t any great benefit. Keep looking for the niche you’re excited about filling.

I that case I suggest also considering if anyone you know might have the passion for the niche you found, and share it with them.

    I second that!

I say no too. Finding something you are passionate about is the secret sauce. Makes everything else so much easier. Easier to talk about it, easier to write about it. Everything is easier. Still got to do the work but if you're not passionate about your subject, it can be a struggle to even come up with what to say.

Very true! If you're passionate about something, the work just flows. When you're doing something you're passionate about, what looks like work to others is fun and fulfilling to you. That's really the sweet spot!
